In January, President Obama pledged to close down the Guantanamo Bay prison facility that houses alleged Al-Qaeda terrorists. In March, Attorney General Eric Holder mentioned the Alexandria federal courthouse as possible destination for the relocation of some of these prisoners.

SAFE Alexandria believes that there are many reasons that the Alexandria area is not a suitable destination for any of these detainees, and that relocating these alleged terrorists to Alexandria is a dangerous and avoidable action.
